(2) Renew the lease on annual terms. (3) Have the panels removed at no cost — the installer removes all equipment and returns your roof to its original condition, including patching any penetration points.

Yes. Solar leases are fully transferable to the new homeowner. The buyer takes over the same fixed rate and terms — which is actually a selling point, since they inherit immediate energy savings.

The installer will remove and reinstall the panels at no cost to you so your roof can be repaired. Panel removal and reinstallation is covered under the lease agreement.

The lease provider claims the federal business ITC and Illinois Shines RECs on your behalf, then passes those savings through to you as a lower lease rate. You benefit from the incentives without any paperwork or waiting.

Most lease programs require a minimum 650 FICO score. If your credit score is below 650, ask us about other options — we work with multiple programs to find the right fit.

From signing to activation, the typical timeline is 1-3 months. This includes engineering, permitting, installation, inspection, and utility interconnection. We handle all of it.
